China Post (中国邮政) is the official postal service of China. It is responsible for domestic and international mail and parcel delivery, including ordinary letters, small registered packets, and China EMS (Express Mail Service) for faster international shipments. China Post tracking enables you to track a shipment from the initial scan in China until it is handed over to the destination postal operator for final delivery.

What is the Official Website of China Post?
The official website of China Post (China Post Group Corporation) is chinapost.com.cn. On this website, you'll find general information about postal services in China, delivery options, and domestic operations.
For international shipments, China Post EMS is used. Information is available at ems.com.cn, where you can learn about the company's services and products, as well as track your international parcel.
When tracking shipments from China, information about your parcel's movement outside the country may not always be displayed on the official website. For a more complete China Post tracking view, including data from both China Post and the destination country's postal service, you can use Track & Trace, which shows events from different carriers on a single timeline.
How Long does China Post Take to Deliver?
Delivery times vary depending on the shipping method and destination country. Below are the average time frames for most international parcels:
China Post ePacket: 7 - 20 days;
Registered Air Mail: 15 - 35 days;
Surface Mail (sea or land): 30 - 60 days;
China EMS (Express Mail Service): 7 - 15 days.
Delays may occur due to customs clearance, weather conditions, or changes in flight schedules. It is normal for tracking to remain unchanged for several days while the parcel is in transit between export and import scans.
How to Recognize a Fake China Post Tracking Number?
Genuine China Post tracking numbers follow the official UPU S10 format (for example, XX 000000000 CN). Scammers sometimes generate fake codes that look similar but are not registered in any postal system.
You can quickly check whether a tracking number is valid using our free validation tracking number tool. It verifies if the code matches real postal patterns and whether it is currently used by any carrier.
Signs of a fake or invalid number
The tracking data does not match the purchase timeframe or is clearly intended for a different country;
The format looks correct, but no tracking data appears for a long period after the parcel was supposedly shipped;
Updates appear only on suspicious third-party sites and never in major postal systems. To reduce this risk, track your shipment using our global package tracker, which retrieves data from official sources.
Always verify your tracking number on a reliable platform and, when possible, on the carriers' official websites before relying on any shipment information. Fake numbers are often used to delay refunds or create the illusion of shipping progress.
What is the Format of a China Post International Tracking Number?
China Post international tracking numbers comply with the UPU S10 standard, which consists of 13 characters: two letters at the beginning, nine digits, and two letters at the end indicating the country of origin. For China, this is "CN" (for example, XX 000000000 CN).
The first letter indicates the service type:
R - Registered Mail;
C - Parcel Post / Standard Package;
E - EMS Express Mail;
L - ePacket or Tracked Packet.
All China Post international tracking numbers can be tracked worldwide using our Package Tracker. It displays scans from China Post together with postal updates in the destination country and may also show estimated delivery times based on similar shipments.
Why Does my Tracking Number Show Another Country's Postal Service (like USPS, Royal Mail, or PostNL)?
This is normal for international mail. After your China Post parcel leaves China, it is handed over to the destination country's national postal carrier for last-mile delivery (for example, USPS in the U.S., Royal Mail in the U.K., PostNL in the Netherlands). Under the UPU system, the same S10 tracking number remains valid across both operators, allowing you to see updates from each postal service.
To avoid switching between multiple websites, you can use Parcel Manager, which shows China Post scans together with the destination carrier's events on one timeline. Some carriers generate an additional local tracking code; if you see a new number, Track & Trace can automatically detect and link it. If the parcel is delivered by a partner courier (not the national post), the events may appear under that partner's name, but it is still the same shipment.
Can I Contact China Post Directly About my International Parcel?
If your parcel has already left China, China Post customer service will generally not be able to help with delivery or investigations, because the destination country's postal service is responsible for processing the item after export.
You can still contact China Post through their official website, but support is available only in Chinese and mainly covers domestic shipments within China. In practice, it is often difficult to resolve international delivery issues this way, as China Post handles a very large volume of mail and cannot investigate every single case in detail.
Alternative options:
Track your parcel on Track and Trace Delivery - the service combines updates from China Post and the destination postal service and helps you identify which postal operator is currently handling your parcel.
Contact the seller or marketplace (for example, AliExpress, eBay, or Amazon) if your package has not arrived within the expected timeframe and request a refund or replacement according to their buyer protection policy.
How Can I Track a China Post Parcel in English?
The official China Post website is mainly in Chinese, and the English version has limited tracking options.
For a more complete tracking experience in English, you can use Track & Trace Parcel Manager. It automatically recognizes China Post tracking numbers and other valid China tracking numbers, translates all tracking statuses into English, and adds updates from the destination country's postal carrier.
You will see every key step of your shipment - from dispatch and export customs in China to final delivery in your country - on a single timeline, in clear English.
If English is not your preferred language, Track & Trace can also translate tracking information into more than 80 languages, so you can follow your parcel in the language you are most comfortable with.

International mail processing centers (IMPCs) are postal facilities that play a crucial role in inter-operator mail processing of China Post, as they either form or receive items, or serve as transit centers for mail exchanged between other IMPCs. Each China Post IMPC has a clearly defined physical location, is managed or under the responsibility of a postal service, and processes a specific set of mail flows both domestically and internationally. If you see the abbreviation "IMPC" in your parcel tracking and don't know where it is, you can search for the exact location in the list below.
